*** title: Add and manage CA and client certificates in the Postman VS Code extension updated: 2025-08-22T00:00:00.000Z max-toc-depth: 2 ---------------- You can add a custom CA certificate in the Postman VS Code extension to connect to an API that uses a certificate registered with an internal certificate registry. You won't need to turn off SSL verification in your request. You can also add a client certificate to connect to an API that uses Mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication. Certificates added to Postman are stored locally and aren't synced to the Postman cloud. ## Access certificates To access certificates, do the following: 1. Click Options icon **Views and More Actions** at the top of the sidebar. 2. Select **Settings > Certificates**. To learn about adding and managing certificates in Postman, see [Add and manage CA and client certificates in Postman](/docs/sending-requests/authorization/certificates/).
