# Agent Mode

This feature is available to users who consent to using AI.

Agent Mode offers two types of AI-powered automation, [local](#local-agent-mode-options) and [cloud](#agent-mode-on-cloud-options), to help you work faster and smarter with Postman. Both options are built on the same underlying AI technology, but they serve different use cases and operate in different environments.

## Local Agent Mode options

These features help you complete tasks faster across collections, tests, workspaces, environments, monitors, Spec Hub, and web applications directly in your Postman app. Agent Mode can help create and manage requests, flows, and mock servers, and debug errors and write tests. You interact with these options in your local Postman environment, using built-in suggestions, context actions, or natural language requests.

An even faster way to perform certain key tasks is to use [Skills](/docs/use/agent-mode/skills/). Enter slash (`/`) to open the skills menu, select a skill, replace placeholders in the skill prompt, and Agent Mode completes the required multi-step workflow.

The Agent Mode chat gives you [options](/docs/use/agent-mode/get-started/#agent-mode-options) to switch your AI model or configure an MCP server. You can also [start over](/docs/use/agent-mode/troubleshoot/) or continue from a previous conversation. ## Agent Mode on Cloud options

[Agent Mode on Cloud](/docs/use/agent-mode-cloud/overview/) performs engineering tasks such as updating code repositories, running API tests, and running workflows against your Postman Collections and GitHub repos. The agent operates in a secure, isolated sandbox in the cloud and provides a full audit trail for every run. You define the task, and the agent handles the implementation, reporting results back for your review before anything is merged or published.

## Manage AI settings

To manage your Postman app AI settings, click <img alt="Setting icon" src="https://assets.postman.com/postman-docs/aether-icons/v12/icon-descriptive-setting-stroke-small.svg#icon" width="16px" /> in the header and select **App settings** > **AI**. To manage your organization's or team's AI settings, click your profile in the header, then select the name of your organization or team and click **AI**.
