# Manage how you interact with an MCP server

You can edit your [Model Context Protocol](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/introduction) (MCP) request authorization details and adjust the settings that influence how you interact with the server.

## Edit your STDIO request authorization details

You can edit your MCP [standard input and output](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/docs/concepts/transports#standard-input%2Foutput-stdio) (STDIO) request authorization details.

To edit your STDIO request authorization details, do the following:

1. Choose an existing STDIO MCP request or [create a new one](/docs/use/send-requests/protocols/mcp-requests/create/).
2. Open the **Environment** tab.
3. Add your authorization key-value pairs.

   **Important:**
   Use variables to protect your sensitive data. To learn more, see [Store and reuse values using variables](/docs/use/send-requests/variables/variables/).

## Edit your streamable HTTP request authorization details

You can edit your MCP [streamable HTTP](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/docs/concepts/transports#streamable-http) request authorization details.

To edit your streamable HTTP request authorization details, do the following:

1. Choose an existing streamable HTTP MCP request or [create a new one](/docs/use/send-requests/protocols/mcp-requests/create/).
2. Open the **Authorization** tab.
3. Select an **Auth Type**.
4. Edit your authorization details.

## Adjust your request settings

To adjust your request settings, do the following:

1. Choose an existing MCP request or [create a new one](/docs/use/send-requests/protocols/mcp-requests/create/).
2. Open the **Settings** tab.
3. Adjust your request settings.
