Create MCP requests and add them to your collections

You create Model Context Protocol (MCP) requests to interact with an MCP server of your choice, such as one from the community or one you built yourself. Postman can also generate an MCP server for you. Use MCP requests to experiment, test, and evaluate different MCP servers.

Then, export the MCP server’s configuration and use it to set up an MCP host, such as Claude Desktop, VS Code, or Cursor.

Create your MCP requests

Create MCP requests to interact with MCP servers. Then, add them to your collections and organize them in your workspace for your project.

To learn more, see Create an MCP request for your collection.

Interact with MCP servers

Use your MCP requests to interact with MCP servers. When you send requests to a server, the server returns a response. Servers can also send real-time notifications and requests of their own. You can use these interactions to experiment, test, and evaluate a server.

To learn more, see Use your MCP requests to interact with an MCP server.

Manage your MCP request settings

Edit your authentication details and adjust how you interact with an MCP server.

To learn more, see Manage how you interact with an MCP server.

Add MCP servers to MCP hosts

Add an MCP server to Postman Agent Mode or your MCP hosts to give them added context and capabilities.

To learn more, see Add an MCP server to your MCP host.
