Manage your Postman AI credits
You and your team members receive a monthly AI credit allowance to use on Postman AI features, regardless of your Postman plan.
Paid accounts can purchase additional AI credits. You can keep using Agent Mode after reaching your limit so long as pay-as-you-go is enabled by a Billing admin. If pay-as-you-go isn’t enabled for a team member, Agent Mode pauses until monthly credits renew.
Pay-as-you-go lets you continue using AI beyond your included monthly credits and is billed at your plan’s specified rate.
AI credits renew monthly on your billing date, and they don’t roll over between periods.
For more information on AI credits, see the pricing page.
How Agent Mode consumes credits
Regardless of the plan, each Postman user is allotted AI credits every month. Credits are consumed each time Agent Mode performs an AI-powered action, such as generating or refining requests, writing tests, or creating documentation.
For paid plans, when the limit is reached, if you have pay-as-you-go turned on, you can continue using Agent Mode without interruption. If pay-as-you-go is turned off, Agent Mode is paused until monthly credits renew.
Pay-as-you-go charges appear on your next monthly invoice and are billed to the payment method on file. You’ll see the AI credit charges on your invoice.
Track your team’s AI credit usage
Postman notifies you when you reach 75% and 100% of your AI credit limit, and again when you exceed it. Once you reach 100%, you’ll see an in-product alert letting you know whether usage will pause or continue with pay-as-you-go (if turned on by your Billing admin).
If you have an Admin or Billing role, you receive an email when one or more of your team members has spent 75% of their monthly credits and again when members of your team transition to pay-as-you-go. Billing role users will get one additional email when their team’s total pay-as-you-go charges exceed a certain usage threshold.
You can use the Resource usage dashboard to view the resources your team is using and view your team member’s remaining AI credits for the billing period.
Manage pay-as-you-go
Pay-as-you-go is turned on by default. If you have a Billing role, you can turn off pay-as-you-go for individual users in the AI credit details page dashboard.
When pay-as-you-go is turned off, Agent Mode access is paused once you reach the credit limit. You can resume using Agent Mode after the monthly allotment renews.
