Postman EU Data Residency
The Postman EU Data Residency provides a solution for customers who want their data stored in the European Union (EU) while using Postman. If you select the EU Data Residency, your data is stored in EU data centers. An instance of Postman hosted in eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) is available for Enterprise customers.
About EU Data Residency
Enterprise customers often have policies that require sensitive data to be stored in the EU.
Purchasing a Postman EU Data Residency plan
To purchase a Postman Enterprise EU Data Residency plan, contact the Postman sales team. After you purchase your plan, the Postman team will help set up Postman Enterprise for your organization.
Set Postman region preference
After you have purchased a Postman Enterprise EU Data Residency plan, you can add your new account when you log in from the Postman desktop app. To log in to the EU Data Residency in the Postman desktop app, do the following:
-
In the Help menu, select Region Preference for New Accounts > Use EU Region by Default.
-
Follow the usual sign-in procedure as detailed in Sign in to Postman.
The authentication flow begins in the EU region the next time you add an account. You can then select that account to log in to the EU Data Residency.
You can also select Always Ask for Region Selection if you prefer to choose the region for each new account added. This setting presents you with a region selector every time you add a new account. You can also select Use EU Region by Default to return to the default behavior.
This setting only affects the region in which the authentication flow initiates to add new accounts to the app. It doesn’t impact any existing accounts already present in the app.
Feature availability
The Postman EU Data Residency includes all features (except those listed below), available in the Postman Enterprise plan, including those available in the Advanced Security Administration add-on.
The Advanced Security Administration add-on lets you manage organization-wide security with centralized secret scanning, policies, alerts, and external vault integrations. For more information, see Advanced Security Administration add-on pricing.
The following features aren’t available:
- Legacy and partner-built integrations
- Partner Workspaces for partners without EU Postman deployments
- Postman Flows
- BYOK for collection runs
- Live Sessions
- Postman API Network
- Fern API documentation and SDKs
- Postbot (v11)
Postman AI features
Postman’s AI features for the EU are deployed on Azure Open AI and Amazon Bedrock, available as a global deployment option.
- EU home region retains all control plane data — logs, metrics, diagnostics, alerts, key management, networking rules, key rotation, batch processing, and all data-at-rest remain in the EU region.
- Data-in-transit is secured — all traffic uses the Azure network, not the public internet, encrypted with FIPS 140-2 cryptographic standards.
- Confidential Computing — Azure OpenAI runs on confidential computing with deployment stamps that prevent data collusion between tenants on the same inference server.
Administrative highlights
- The Postman API uses the
api.eu.postman.comsubdomain and some endpoints aren’t available. - When you use the Postman API to create a webhook, the webhook URL returned in the response is
https://newman-api.eu.getpostman.com/. - To run a collection with the Postman CLI, generate an API key in the EU region and use the API key to sign in to Postman. The Postman CLI automatically detects and uses the region where the API key was generated. Note that the EU region supports all options, except the
--integration-idoption. Learn more about running collections with the Postman CLI. - To configure and enable SCIM, use the following URL:
https://api.eu.postman.com/scim/v2. - Before Postman can enable BYOK for your team, you must create your AWS KMS key in the
eu-central-1region in your AWS account. - The Postman Echo service, used to test REST clients and make sample API calls, is based in the US region.
