Prepare your public collections for the Postman API Network

Built with

Your public workspace is a landing page for your public APIs. It’s where API consumers find your public APIs, learn about them, and can fork your public collections to their own workspace, where they can start using them.

Before you make your workspace public, you’ll prepare it, prepare your public collections, curate them, and prepare your team workspace for team collaboration.

Create your public workspace

Depending on your team’s workflow, you can create a private or team workspace (you’ll make it public later). If you want to limit access to invited team members, create a private workspace. If you want to invite everyone from your team, create a team workspace.

You’ll make your workspace public when you’re ready to publish your public APIs to the Postman API Network.

To create your public workspace, do the following:

  1. In the Postman header, open the workspace switcher. Then, click Create.
  2. If you want to use a workspace template, choose one.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Name your workspace.
  5. If you’re part of an organization, choose a team.
  6. Click Team icon Internal. Then, choose whether to share access with everyone in your team or only you and invited people.
  7. Click Create.

To learn more, see Create a workspace in Postman.

Invite team members to your workspace

To invite team members to your workspace, do the following:

  1. Open your workspace.
  2. In the Postman header, click Invite.
  3. Use the available options, such as email, to invite your team members.
  4. Choose a role for your team members.
  5. Click Invite.

You can continue to invite team members as your workspace, its collections, and your public APIs evolve.

To learn more, see Share workspace.

Edit your workspace details

To edit your workspace details, do the following:

  1. Open your workspace.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Options icon Options > Workspace overview.
  3. Add a summary and description.

You can continue to edit your workspace details as your workspace, its collections, and your public APIs evolve.

To learn more, see Edit workspace details.
