Postman plugin for coding agents

View as Markdown

Postman is available wherever your coding agent works. The Postman plugin gives Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Pi, and other coding agents Postman’s skills to build, test, and manage APIs using the Postman CLI, without you leaving your coding environment.

The plugin automatically routes each task to whichever tool is best suited to complete it, so you don’t have to choose yourself. It sends your agent’s requests to the Postman CLI whenever the Postman CLI can complete them, and falls back to the Postman MCP Server only for tasks the Postman CLI doesn’t support. Your agent does the work from the command line, and you open Postman whenever you want to review or approve what changed. To learn more, see the Postman plugin for coding agents repository.

Install the plugin

The plugin works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other coding agents. Install it into every detected agent on your machine at once, or add it to a single agent using that agent’s own marketplace or command. You can also install the skills into your project with the Postman CLI, which makes them available to everyone who works in the repository.

Work with Postman from your agent

Describe API tasks to your agent in plain language, and it does the work with Postman from the command line. Your agent can build and test API collections, mock and simulate the services your code depends on, find what a change could break with Postman Context Graph, and integrate public APIs with Orbit. You review and approve the results in Postman.

Plugin skills

The skills cover the full API workflow, including building collections, mocking and simulation, testing and performance testing, monitoring, documentation, CI integration, and discovering APIs that already exist. Your agent loads each skill only when a task calls for it, so it uses only what it needs.
